Watch: Decent Therapy – Василий Архипов

Decent Therapy is one of several projects by Melbourne’s Markus Cook. You’ll no doubt have heard Default Jameson and maybe even Pewter Snake Necklace, but the subject at hand takes an entirely different tack entirely. ‘Василий Архипов’ is named after the Soviet naval officer, Vasili Arkhipov, who prevented the Cuban missile crisis from escalating to the point where we’d all be dead right now. You could say he saved the world.

Presumably to honour him, Cook has created this track with the accompanying video synthesis shown above. In Cook’s words, it’s a “celebration of everything not burning to the ground”. It’s a slightly nauseating ditty, but weirdly mesmerising too.
