Bit of a supergroup here. Featuring members of Circle Pit, True Radical Miracle, Bloody Hammer and Flesh World, Ratsak write songs that sit on the very flimsy fence between straight rock and hardcore. I was expecting something a little bit weirder, given the pedigree here, but nope: it’s just full-throttle reprobate rock of a very muscular variety. This debut 7 inch contains four songs, which elapse in under eight minutes. And yeah, it was recorded and mixed by Mikey Young.
There is also a band from Wisconsin called Ratsak that also plays hardcore. This is not them. Very little bloody wonder the name Ratsak is in such high demand, though.
