I’m reliably informed that Olle Holmberg, the sole Berlin-based operator behind Moon Wheel, lived in Melbourne until recently and was/is part of Pissypaw. He had a split cassette with Ill Winds issued recently on Noisekolln tapes, and judging by the activity on his Soundcloud of late, there seems to be a 12 inch in the works.
The track below, taken from his website, is reminiscent of a lot of the music that orbited the BBC Radiophonic Workshop: it has a very cerebral laboratory flavour, incredibly delicate and playful. Holmberg calls it “music for contemplative listening, relaxation and dancing” which is “inspired by nature, history and wandering.” That just about sums it up, really. Looking forward to more material.
